About Me

Hi there and welcome to my website, Iā€™m Kathy, I am a caring and compassionate person and I really believe that the counselling process can help us to explore difficult situations, feelings and emotions at any point in our lives. It can also help us to understand ourselves better and provide strong foundations for our goals in life. I understand first-hand how hard it can be to reach out for help and support. I want you to know that you are not alone and acknowledge the courage needed to take this first step in looking for support.

I have significant experience working as a nurse within the NHS. Supporting patients, family members and staff with what can be one of the most difficult times they have faced. I chose to retrain as a counsellor so that I can support people with any difficulties they are facing to the best of my ability.

My Background

I have experience working as a neonatal intensive care nurse supporting families to care for and bond with their sick or preterm babies. I understand that the neonatal journey is a rollercoaster of emotions and that transitioning from hospital to home can feel overwhelming. Exploring these feelings and fears within the counselling setting can help to understand the enormity of the challenges you have faced and explore how you can cope with the future.

I have also supported many families with the loss of a baby. I believe that I can offer a space to guide parents through the grief and trauma of their devastating experience and support you to live alongside your grief.

My clinical experience within the NHS means that I understand how there is often a link between physical illness and our mental well-being. Having worked clinically throughout the pandemic I have a deep understanding of the pressures that healthcare workers are facing and feel that I could support you if you are struggling with work related issues.
