Frequently Asked Questions

Will I be charged for cancellations?

If for any reason I have to cancel the session I will aim to provide 48 hours’ notice and you will not be charged for the session.

Likewise, I will expect 48 hours’ notice if you are unable to attend a session. After this time the session will be charged in full.

How many sessions will I need?

As people come to counselling for many different reasons, it is very difficult to say how many sessions you will need. As a general guide, most people have 6-8 sessions. We can review this throughout your sessions to make sure you are getting what you need. Sessions are usually weekly, however we could change this to suit your individual circumstances.

You can stop your counselling sessions at any time. I would just ask that you do this during a session so that we are able to close the counselling process properly.

What if we have technical difficulties?

Prior to the start of the session, I will send out an email link to the online meeting space, please click on this link to ensure you have access to the waiting room.

If we are to lose contact during the session, I will attempt to restart the online meeting. Should that fail, I will contact you on the telephone number provided.

What happens in the first session?

I offer a free 20-minute (no obligation) telephone call where we can discuss the counselling process, and get to know each other a little. If you feel that I am the right counsellor for you I will send out a digital welcome pack. This includes all the information you need about our working together. This ensures that our first session together can be spent exploring the issues that have brought you to counselling.
